Ready for an under the sea craft adventure? Today, weโre diving deep with a super fun and easy paper submarine craft that you can color, cut, and play with.
The submarine has windows with passengers in them, and there are tropical fish for the scenery. This craft has two pieces โ a front and a back, so if you turn the submarine around youโll see the passengers from behind, plus more fish waiting to be spotted. To make this paper craft ready for playtime, weโll add a popsicle stick as a handle.
This craft is perfect for summer and is a breeze to set up and assemble, thanks to a free printable template and step-by-step instructions.

Steps:
1. Print out the printable template.
2. Color all the parts. The submarine and the passengers have front and back sides, so match the colors of both sides.ย
3. Cut out all parts, including the inner sections of the windows (marked with grey dotted pattern).
4. Glue the front parts of the passengers inside the circles on one side of the submarine. Then, glue the back parts to the other side, matching their positions so it looks correct when you flip the submarine.
Tip: to get it right, ensure the passenger sitting at the rear is the same on both sides.
ย
5. Glue the popsicle stick behind one submarine part.
6. Spread glue on the back of one submarine part and attach the other part to it. Make sure the colored sides are facing outwards, then align the edges and press to secure.
7. Make the window glasses: Trace the window frames onto transparency film.
8. Cut the transparency film slightly smaller than the trace mark, so that the window glass fits nicely within the window frame.
Spread glue on the back of each window frame, then attach the transparency sheet to it.ย
9. Stick small pieces of foam tape behind the window frames and stick the windows over the passengers. This gives a fun 3D effect.
10. Stick small pieces of foam tape behind each fish and place them around the submarine. Now your underwater scene is complete!
