Let’s surprise someone special this Valentine’s Day with a cute and unique handmade gift! I’ve created a new Valentine’s Day printable: Cookie Jar Treat Bag. It’s a paper envelope shaped like a cookie jar, with kawaii illustrations and a clear window to show off the treats inside. The back side of the treat bag has labels to write who this gift is for and from whom. This small, flat treat bag is perfect for holding little goodies like a single cookie or a few Skittles.
With the free printable template, some basic craft supply and a treat of your choice, you can create a heartwarming Valentine’s Gift in no time. It’s not just a thoughtful gift – it’s also a fun Valentine’s Day craft for kids! Let them create their own personal DIY Valentine’s Day gift to share with friends.
The free printable template is available exclusively to my newsletter subscribers. If you’re already on the list, check your email for this Valentine’s Day freebie. If not, you can sign up using the form at the end of this post to get the template and start crafting!

Make Your Valentine’s Day Cookie Jar Treat Bag
What you’ll need*:
- Valentine’s Day Cookie Jar Treat Bag template (fill the box at the end of this page to download it)
- Coloring tools (I used alcohol based markers)
- Scissors
- Glue (I used a glue stick)
- Transparency film
- Clear cellophane bag (3”x4”)
- Treats (candies, cookie, or small goodies)
* Includes Amazon affiliate links
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Download and print the Valentine’s Day Cookie Jar Treat Bag template.
2. Color the design with your favorite coloring tools. I used alcohol based markers for smooth coloring and vibrance.
3. Carefully cut along the scissor marks on the template. This includes cutting the window section on the front of the cookie jar. Kids might need a little help with this step!
4. Cut a piece of clear transparency film slightly larger than the window opening.
5. Glue the transparency film inside of the template, covering the cut-out space.
6. Fold the treat bag along the dashed lines.
7. Spread glue on the GLUE TABS and use them to glue the bag’s sides together.
8. On the back of the treat bag you can Write who this gift is to and from. Let the glue dry completely before moving to the next step.
9. Wrap your treat in a small cellophane bag suitable for holding food (this one would work well), then slide the bag inside your cookie jar envelope. Staple the cookie jar at the top, and your Valentine’s Day gift is ready!
What do you think of this cute Valentine’s Day idea? I hope it’s the perfect way to express your love and appreciation. This simple, thoughtful DIY gift is great when you need a small yet meaningful gesture, whether for your romantic partner or your favorite classmate or colleague.
