How to make a spaghetti hat with meatballs
Here is how to make a spaghetti hat for a fancy occassion! This craft tutorial is rather easy so you can make it relatively quick.
Wear this spaghetti hat for your next party and you’ll become the main show. If people throw tomatoes on you just ask tell them to add some basil.
How to make a spaghetti hat with meatballs – step by step:
You will need:
A headband with a wide surface
Hot glue gun
Plastic fork
White \ yellowish yarn
Tin foil
Paint and brush
Foam ball
Plastic disposable plate (or any other flat surface that can be cut into a circle and hold your craft together)
Step 1:
Start by making the meatballs, because their paint needs time to dry.
For each ball, cut a piece of aluminum foil and ballbalize(!) it into a ball. You can wrap it in a towel if pressing the foil hurts your hand.
I made three balls.
Step 2:
Paint the balls brown.
I mixed some black and red paint as well. I thought they would look more meaty, but they turned out looking more like meteors 0_0.
Step 3:
Cut the foam ball in half.
Step 4:
Cut a circle out of the plastic plate. This will be the base of your craft, so cut it big enough to hold your half foam ball.
Step 5:
Glue the plastic circle to the top of the headband.
Step 6:
Glue the half foam ball to the plastic circle.
Step 7:
Sick the plastic fork into the foam ball.
Think of how it would look like on your head when you choose the best spot and the angle of the fork.
(They make really fancy disposable dining tools these days, like this plastic silver fork I found!).
Step 8:
Add the spaghetti!
Start with gluing a bundle of the yarn, and then glue \ spin \ twist \ twirl to make your spaghetti look as natural as possible.
Glue some yarn around the edges of the plastic base to cover it nicely.
Step 9:
Once the meatballs are dry (and not a second before!) glue them to the spaghetti.
You can arrange the yarn a bit, add some spots of glue or trim \ tuck it if needed.
That’s it, you are done!
It’s a whimsical prop that suits both men and women.
And it’s 100 % vegan! 😉
(I made my husband wear it while he was working)
Did you try out this little project? How did your spaghetti hat turn out?
