A Meaningful Spring Activity

My Spring Notebook is part journal, part coloring book, and part keepsake. Each page includes a spring-themed prompt to help kids reflect, imagine, and express what’s going on inside. Some pages explore new ideas and changes, others focus on growth, small joys, and thoughtful moments.

All the prompts are tied to spring – like seeds turning into dreams, gardens for growing ideas, sunshine that warms from within, and even a few tiny gnomes offering a little help. And of course, it’s filled with adorable spring illustrations to color along the way.

It’s a mix of creative fun and meaningful reflection, giving kids a space to put their thoughts into words.

Assemble Your Spring Notebook

Making the spring notebook is simple:

1. Print the free PDF (get it through the sign up box down below).

2. Cut along the scissor marks to separate each double-page spread.

Cut out the pages to assemble your spring notebook.

3. Fold the cover along the dashed line, folding outward so the illustrations stay on the outside.

4. Fold each double-page spread along the center (marked with small lines), folding inward so the illustrations stay on the inside.

5. Stack the pages in order: First, place the cover face down. Then place page 1 face up, then stack page 2 on top of it, followed by page 3, and so on. The right-side pages of each double spread follow a downward order.

6. Align everything and make sure all pages are facing the right way.

7. Lay the notebook open, facing down, and staple the spine.

Stapler trick:

If your stapler doesn’t reach the spine of the notebook, spread the notebook facing down on Styrofoam block or cardboard. Open your stapler flat and staple into the spine, letting the pins go into the foam. Then remove the foam and bend the staples inward.

Use this stapler trick to bind your spring notebook.

And that’s it – ready to use!

For kids, it’s exciting to have their very own spring journal – a little book to write and color in, and a space where their thoughts and creativity can bloom.

For parents, it’s a chance to see how their kids think about themselves and their world – what they’re proud of, what they’re excited about, and how they see their own growth.

If you are looking for a spring activity that’s both engaging and meaningful, this printable notebook is for you!
